This site works pretty well without JavaScript. All Diagrams, Math, Codeblocks etc. are all rendered server-side, so you don’t need to have any random JS libraries run on your device

Why you shouldn’t have JS enabled by default?

JS introduces almost all of the newly discovered Security Vulnerabilities in Browsers, allows Privacy invasive tracking technologies (like Font fingerprinting, observal of behavioural biometrics), shows you all these dynamic personalized ads (which are also a privacy desaster and might advertise malware). Overall JS is just pesky annoying stuff, that’s most of the time unneeded and should definitly not be enabled by default.

Limitations:

Unfortunatly there are things, that can only be achieved with JS, in this blog it’s the following 2 points (which shouldn’t be too major, you can just copy stuff manually and the other thing is just a special cosmetic easter egg):

• Copy Code Button won’t work (as it just requires JS …)
• Diashow of Images (starting after 3s) in the Projects Overview (although this might even be possible without JS, I’m gonna look into it)

• Server OS: Fedora
• Webserver: Caddy
• Static Site Generator: Hugo
• Diagram Generation: Kroki
• Theme: hello-friend-ng (with a few custom overrides)
• Embedded Icon SVG’s from: Heroic Icons and for Language Icons: Simple Logins

I use NixOS btw (but haven’t got it running on the server yet :/)
